My name is Brett and I would like to consult your expertise. I want to take 15 or 20 old cell phones and hack them so that they no longer need a carrier or cell phone tower. The phones will be capable of calling or texting individual phones by relaying the message through the other phones that have been hacked.

I am still learning about the capabilities of phones (very limited information on the subject), but from what I read they have a maximum range of 10 miles, is this correct? What would it take to complete a project like this?
